What is Gear Pump?
A gear pump is a type of positive displacement pump that uses a set of rotating gears to transfer fluids from one place to another. The gears rotate inside a casing or housing, creating a vacuum that draws in the fluid and then forcing it out through the discharge port.

Advantages of External Gear Pump:
- High volumetric efficiency: External gear pumps have high volumetric efficiency, meaning that they can transfer a relatively large amount of fluid per unit of time.
- Compact size: External gear pumps are compact in size and can be easily integrated into existing systems.
- Self-priming: External gear pumps are self-priming, which means that they can draw fluid into the pump without the need for external priming.
- High pressure capability: External gear pumps can operate at high pressures, making them suitable for high-pressure applications.
Disadvantages of External Gear Pump:
- Limited viscosity range: External gear pumps are not suitable for handling fluids with high viscosities.
- Sensitive to abrasive particles: External gear pumps can be sensitive to abrasive particles in the fluid, which can cause damage to the gears and casing.
- Limited temperature range: External gear pumps may not be suitable for handling fluids at very high or very low temperatures.

Advantages of Internal Gear Pump:
